Chairman of the Board
Viney is the Chairman of the Board at Ascent. An ex-Citi banker, he has extensive experience in financial services having managed retail and commercial lending portfolios. In his avatar as an entrepreneur, he set up and listed a financial services business. At Ascent he drives strategy and advice the team on managing scaling up challenges.
Viney holds a Master of Science in Management degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s (MIT) Sloan School of Management. He is a finance professor at Harvard University and currently teaches Private Equity, Venture Capital and Investment Banking and appeared several times in the Dean’s list as a Distinguished Professor.
Advisor to the Board
A banker with fundamentals at the core; A Career spanning 36+ years into Commercial Banking. Made a humble beginning with a groundbreaking inning at State Bank, feels privileged to be at the pinnacle of learning curves at regular intervals. Led an interesting transformation of a local bank in East Africa into a strong Regional bank, a cherishing journey spanning over a decade. An avid patron of digital, remains keen to engage with young minds filled with creative ideas & courage to give it a shot on their own. Had held, various leading positions in his career in Indian Banking Industry encompassing Strategy Planning, Financial Management, Credit & Risk Management, IT Governance and Corporate Governance etc. Has to his credit introducing pioneering initiatives on technology-based solutions and Credit monitoring mechanism in his previous assignment.
An Indian Citizen, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Delhi University, India; a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Advising and had continued professional education, having been accorded with CISA & CIA certifications. Cherishing the innings as a Banking & Digital Evangelist, making selective investments and being a mentor & advisor to fintechs & startups.
A dynamic, versatile individual with several years of experience in Project Management, Finance & Banking, Business Analysis, Process Management, CRM and Key Client Management. A project planner with expertise in planning, executing and spearheading various projects and ensuring the execution to be in compliance to quality standards. An effective leader with distinguished abilities in end-to-end process management, motivating team members to maintain deliverables as per SLA; resolved escalated issues communicated status & resolution options to the management.
Skilled in conceptualizing and effecting process initiatives to enhancing process efficiency; introduced various ideas for the growth of the process and the team. Influencing across the organization, identifying change opportunities that will improve productivity; able to drive significant change and transformation at the leadership-level and workforce-level; performed root cause analysis of the various complaints and suggested improvements. Proven skills in managing teams to work in sync with the corporate set parameters & motivating them for achieving business and individual goals.
Strategy & Investments
Venkata has over 20 years of diverse experience in the BFSI space. An astute relationship banker with finance, process reengineering, coaching and company law background, he has managed teams in various corporates and banks; ICFAI, Tata Coffee, GECIS, Karvy, SCOPE (SCB) and Mashreq. Venkat was the third in GCC to become a certified PgMP. He is a certified Six Sigma professional from GE and Indian Statistical Institute. He is a qualified Cost Accountant.
Company Secretary besides being a Master’s in commerce. Execution of Ascent’s strategy to expand its global footprint through Strategic Alliances Partnerships is driven and managed by Venkata.

Prateek Kumar is a seasoned professional having vast experience in BFSI & F & A sector. Business Operation Leader with 18+ years of progressive international client leadership experience. Clear record of sound financial judgement, keen strategic acumen, along with a proven capacity to quickly and capably analyze key business drivers and put in place strategic plans yielding impressive revenue and business growth.
Prateek offers in-depth expertise in planning, execution, and ongoing Management sterling track record in financial controllership and P/L ownership.
Vice President US
IT business executive and an entrepreneur with extensive expertise in data management and business intelligence solutions. He collaborates with sales, marketing, finance and IT executives to envision solutions that increase sales revenue, decrease operational cost, and comply with regulations.
Prior to joining Ascent, Hemant was a founder/CEO of an MDM, BI consulting firm, and worked with Oracle Corporation as a Senior Product Manager with OLAP group. He was a keynote speaker at Oracle Open World. During his consulting engagements, Hemant had the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most innovative companies such as GE Power, GE Capital, Ford Motors, Tyco/Kendall, TJX, Deloitte, E&Y, PWC, and AT&T. He also led the data management implementation for HealthSouth, Blue Cross Blue Shield, WellPoint, Saving Bank Life Insurance, Iron Mountain, UMass, and MassHealth. Hemant holds a Master’s in Computer Science (MS) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degrees from ITM Mumbai in articulation agreement with Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, NH. He is passionate about investment banking, financing, and equity analysis.
VP- Business Development & operations ( SEA)
Subhash Gurjar has over 14 years of management experience in different industries including Banking, Real Estate, Education and IT services. With both practical and innovative approach to problem-solving, Subhash has brought a range of skills and attributes to Ascent team.
His key areas of expertise include project management, commitment to continuous improvement, implementing tools for managing a growing business, strategically mitigating cash outflows, capacity to develop results and always ensuring a value-adding methodology is maintained. He is a crucial driver of both internal and external operations of Ascent. He manages a network of channel partners and sales staff, as well as the operation team. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing.
Yogendra has more than two decades of experience in Technological Product Development and R&D. He is a Professionally matured result oriented technical enthusiast with progressive experience in designing and delivering highly reliable and valuable products and solutions across technologies, frameworks and platforms.
His entrepreneurial instinct coupled with his in-depth technical knowledge, out of the box thinking and outstanding leadership abilities can enable him to take on challenging opportunities, convert them into sustainable business ventures and hand over for scale up. Distinction of driving growth by establishing product / R&D verticals, product development, product transformation / enhancement and market expansion while leading teams spread across globe.
Vice President Of Strategic Alliances
Zeke Dean has successfully built many products over the past years, developed a software development shop that accumulated +$700,000 in revenue and delivered successfully to customer expectations. Part-Time Student at Harvard studying investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, and communications.
At Ascent, Zeke’s responsibilities include developing marketing blueprints, marketing strategies, marketing budgets, and action plans for establishing a global fintech company in the US banking and capital markets. He possesses humongous expertise in researching, understanding, and listening to prospects to recommend relevant and appropriate banking reconciliation products.
Able to motivate and lead those around by leading by example in the trenches of actual work and not by simply commanding orders. A global individual with management and sales experience from all over the world.
